How are Data Center Services Helping Startups & Businesses?

Data Center Tier plays a vital role in organization, to help make your operational/daily activities run smoothly. Let’s check out how a Data Center can boost startups and businesses!

First of all, let’s start with understanding the concept of the Data Center itself - we may have heard it lots of times, but do we really get it?

Data Center is a dedicated physical space used to house an organization’s computer systems and its associated components, such as telecommunications and storage systems.

After the pandemic and Industrial Revolution 4.0, we’ve learned that  IT operations are crucial for business continuity, thus raising the importance of a reliable Data Center to keep our business running no matter how the situation evolves.

A proper Data Center usually includes backup components and infrastructure for power supply, data communication connections, environmental controls (e.g. air conditioning, fire suppression) and various security devices.

Do you know, a large data center is using as much electricity as a small town? That’s why some businesses prefer to partner up with a Data Center service provider, such as Telkom DWS.

Through neuCentrIX, we’ve been supporting the businesses & startups in the nation with reliable service - from Content Provider to ISPs, from Game Publishers to Digital Players.

A Multiservice Data Center that facilitates contents, connectivity, and end-users requirements, neuCentrIX is strategically located across 10 of Indonesia’s biggest cities.

The neuCentrIX service has two available Tiers. Do you know Tier Data Center’s definition? Let’s see it below:

1. Tier 2 (1 active power feed)

Obligated to have a UPS & redundant component, DC Tier 2 also must be equipped with a backup generator to anticipate blackout.

It is also equipped with a raised floor to reduce risk in the physical infrastructure. The uptime rate of DC Tier 2 is 99,741%, or only a maximum downtime tolerance of 22 hours a year.

2. Tier 3 (1 active + 1 active power feed)

DC Tier 3 boasts all the benefits of Tier 2 but also has more than 1 power source and network (multi network link) so that the "no shutdown" requirement can be fulfilled in DC Tier 3.

Uptime level is 99,982% or disturbance tolerance in a year is only 1.5 hours maximum. In terms of resilience in facing disruption, Tier 3 is categorized as having maximum security against disaster.

With that Data Center Tier classification, you reassured your business operations on Telkom DWS.

Speaking of risk management, we understand that businesses and startups may have concerns. That’s why neuCentrIX comes with elaborate security protocols on site, which includes:

•  24 x 7 Security Guard

•  Visitor Tracking

•  Fingerprint Scanner

•  Access Card

•  Visitors Entrance: Video monitoring & secure two-door lock system

All neuCentrIX Data Center  sites are certified with  ISO 27001:2013 ISMS (Information Security Management System)  Certification, and you can find us on these cities: Medan, Batam, Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar, Balikpapan, Makassar, and Manado.

Being present across the archipelago is an important thing - President Joko Widodo stated during a meeting in Presidential Palace last year, “We know that many of our start-ups, which have grown very rapidly in recent years, are still using overseas data centers.”

In fact, having your Data Center in Indonesia has many benefits. It is faster, safer and helps for troubleshooting in system development that can be done more quickly.

We’re here in the archipelago to answer the  challenge and give solutions to businesses & startups. We understand that Indonesia has huge potential in the industri, as the most active startups ecosystem in Southeast Asia, and also the biggest digital market.
